LAW OF EVOLUTION

LAW OF EVOLUTION

Erle Frayne D. Argonza

From the Pearl of the Orient goes the greetings of love & liberation!

The last cosmic law that I will articulate on is the Law of Evolution. I already discussed evolution in past articles, so this piece will be a sort of a resume of all the said discourses.

As the mahatmas of the spiritual Brotherhood have elucidated to their mystic chelas, man (from manu or thinking being) was first made via projections from the One Universal Principle, in the highest dimension or plane. Then, step by step, the oversouls of man were to project God sparks down on the 5th plane, and downwards yet to the 4th and so on.

Till finally, during the 4th Evolutionary Round, to which we are still properly situated, it was time to evolve man on the surface. The first root races thus appeared on the human canvass, and onwards till today, whence the 5th ‘root-race’ called Aryan is almost on the terminal phase of its mandated incumbency.

Two more sub-races of the Aryans will appear on the historical canvass. After which the next two (2) root-races will appear, each root-race to manifest in seven (7) sub-races. The last two (2) root-races will be the last ones for the 4th Evolutionary Round or the devic-man phase of evolution.

To encapsulate the law, let me quote Guru Felix Fojas, my initiating guru in the Great White Lodge, in the manual of mysticism workshop he prepared for my batch of Initiates (1994), to wit:

Law of Evolution – Everything in the universe evolves physically as well as spiritually. The ultimate goal of evolution is spiritual perfection. There is also the Law of Involution and the Law of Devolution. [End of quote]

What has been explicated by the mahatmas was that man evolves simultaneously in the spiritual, mental, and physical domains. Man was first very highly spiritual and very effulgent a being, but mentally feeble and materially undeveloped. In order to evolve, man has to move down to the astral, etheric, and finally the physical realms.

Man has to be physically perfected and then mentally developed prior to the ascent back to the higher domains. That is the rationale for man’s descent to the physical plane, face risking the disconnection from the higher spheres, and expand on the development of the mental faculties to enable a greater capacity for absorption of knowledge and wisdom.

As to the ultimate goal of perfection, let me re-echo past articulations on the matter. Self-realization—activation of the Soul or higher Self so that it will govern the lower self or psyche—is just but the beginning of a long process yet of spiritual awakening. One becomes a spiritual master upon soul awakening or moksha, is enabled to tap higher wisdom directly, yet isn’t spiritually perfected yet.

The realized Self qualifies one to end the cycles of rebirth, so that later re-births will be more a matter of volunteer decision as a way to enact the liberated person’s mission. Upon becoming a master, one must strive further till perfection is achieved, where 100% balance and harmony is attained and grasp of spiritual knowledge is full and complete. The person thus becomes a mahatma or ‘great soul’.

As one gets perfected, there are still spaces for continuous evolution. From being mahatma, one can evolve to a chohan. From that phase onwards, the liberated master can evolve to a Dhyan Chohan, which enables the Perfected One to qualify to be re-integrated to the Supreme Being and yet permitting the authentic identity to remain intact, at the end of the dissolution (pralaya) phase of the manvantara (great cycle of out-breath and in-breath of the Supreme Being).

Upon the start of the next manvantara, the Perfected One can be re-awakened, being then evolved into a Deity who is mandated to co-govern a realm. The Archangels and Archaias (female archangels), or Dhyani–Buddhas, are among the great souls who attained perfection during the previous manvantara yet. And so are all the deities we know today.

LAW OF REINCARNATION

LAW OF REINCARNATION

Erle Frayne D. Argonza

Kapayapaan at pagmamahal! Love and peace!

This White Robe and servant of the spiritual Hierarchy had already discoursed on reincarnation in diverse articles. Let me share additional notes on the subject in consonance with the articulations on the cosmic laws.

To begin the reflection, let me quote from Guru Felix Fojas, my Initiating Guru in the spiritual Brotherhood, in the manual of mysticism workshop he prepared for us, to note: “Law of Reincarnation – Every spirit-entity regularly incarnate into bodies of flesh to be able to operate in the physical world and learn earthly lessons as well as perform a spiritual task.”

Upon greater elaboration on the subject by the mahatmas of the Brotherhood, the chelas immediately meditated and did research on it. There was, for instance, the repetitive reminder about a group of divine beings that dispense with karma—the Karmic Board—that then becomes the basis for deciding on when and what contextual arrangements will the incarnating ego embody.

HP Blavatsky, Rev. Leadbeater, and Annie Besant, among the foundational leaders of the Theosophical Society, wrote voluminously about karma and reincarnation, the two metaphysical or cosmic laws that go hand in hand. A book was devoted to a particular person alone, tracing back the person’s lives in the past and treating each life as one book chapter, to substantiate the law.

The mystical chelas of the masters clarified that reincarnation takes place every 3,000 years on the average. This is particularly true for the mass of evolutionary laggards, who keep on coming back to learn the same sets of lessons that they failed to learn in their previous embodiments.

The exceptions are the evolved souls, who are returned to the physical plane pronto in order to help humanity to evolve on both personal and collective levels. They are the exemplars of productive behavior for the laggards. They are also the ones who introduce breakthroughs in the arts, science & technology, and philosophy that become powerful motors for social change and for elevating the collective consciousness.

Earth is indubitably a school of life, a hub where different soul types and variegated awareness levels are sent forth to learn lessons and grow in awareness. It is akin to the term ‘social laboratory’ that is used in development language, though its purposes go further than the social.

Due to the sterling behavior of Earth herself, the planet will also evolve in due time. She has become an exemplar for other physical plane planets or ‘3rd dimensional’, and so Earth will ascend soon as a reaping of good karma for her feats. In the very long term, Earth or Terra will continue to move up the ladder of liberation, until she will become a Sun, thus privileged to support many planets with her light and love.

REINCARNATION

REINCARNATION

Erle Frayne D. Argonza / Ra

The complexities of the phenomena of reincarnation and karma were well articulated by Theos Sophia. Karma and reincarnation are two universal principles that go together, and we can’t think of reincarnation without the cosmic law of retribution or karma to define the broad compass of that rebirth.

For this note, let us focus on reincarnation. In ancient myths and legends, ancient symbology, the phoenix symbolized the phenomenon of rebirth. The mythic bird, so beautiful and awesome, lives to a very long life, then burns itself, and then gets reborn in the process. It lives forever.

Another related symbol or signifier is that of the ‘lion’s paw’. Among the favorite symbols in freemasonry, the lion’s paw signifies resurrection. Any person who has been transmuted, upon liberation, into an exquisite divine being, is as good a resurrected person who will be deathless thereafter.

Below is an excerpt from the book The Key to Theosophy by H.P.Blavatsky about the subject of reincarnation.

ENQUIRER. You mean, then, that we have all lived on earth before, in many past incarnations, and shall go on so living?

THEOSOPHIST. I do. The life-cycle, or rather the cycle of conscious life, begins with the separation of the mortal animal-man into sexes, and will end with the close of the last generation of men, in the seventh round and seventh race of mankind. Considering we are only in the fourth round and fifth race, its duration is more easily imagined than expressed.

ENQUIRER. And we keep on incarnating in new personalities all the time?

THEOSOPHIST. Most assuredly so; because this life-cycle or period of incarnation may be best compared to human life. As each such life is composed of days of activity separated by nights of sleep or of inaction, so, in the incarnation-cycle, an active life is followed by a Devachanic rest.

ENQUIRER. And it is this succession of births that is generally defined as re-incarnation?

THEOSOPHIST. Just so. It is only through these births that the perpetual progress of the countless millions of Egos toward final perfection and final rest (as long as was the period of activity) can be achieved.

ENQUIRER. And what is it that regulates the duration, or special qualities of these incarnations?

THEOSOPHIST. Karma, the universal law of retributive justice.

ENQUIRER. Is it an intelligent law?

THEOSOPHIST. For the Materialist, who calls the law of periodicity which regulates the marshalling of the several bodies, and all the other laws in nature, blind forces and mechanical laws, no doubt Karma would be a law of chance and no more. For us, no adjective or qualification could describe that which is impersonal and no entity, but a universal operative law. If you question me about the causative intelligence in it, I must answer you I do not know. But if you ask me to define its effects and tell you what these are in our belief, I may say that the experience of thousands of ages has shown us that they are absolute and unerring equity, wisdom, and intelligence. For Karma in its effects is an unfailing redresser of human injustice, and of all the failures of nature; a stern adjuster of wrongs; a retributive law which rewards and punishes with equal impartiality. It is, in the strictest sense, "no respecter of persons," though, on the other hand, it can neither be propitiated, nor turned aside by prayer. This is a belief common to Hindus and Buddhists, who both believe in Karma.

ENQUIRER. In this Christian dogmas contradict both, and I doubt whether any Christian will accept the teaching.

THEOSOPHIST. No; and Inman gave the reason for it many years ago. As he puts it, while "the Christians will accept any nonsense, if promulgated by the Church as a matter of faith . . . the Buddhists hold that nothing which is contradicted by sound reason can be a true doctrine of Buddha." They do not believe in any pardon for their sins, except after an adequate and just punishment for each evil deed or thought in a future incarnation, and a proportionate compensation to the parties injured.

ENQUIRER. Where is it so stated?

THEOSOPHIST. In most of their sacred works. In the "Wheel of the Law" (p. 57) you may find the following Theosophical tenet: -"Buddhists believe that every act, word or thought has its consequence, which will appear sooner or later in the present or in the future state. Evil acts will produce evil consequences, good acts will produce good consequences: prosperity in this world, or birth in heaven (Devachan). . . in the future state."

ENQUIRER. Christians believe the same thing, don't they?

THEOSOPHIST. Oh, no; they believe in the pardon and the remission of all sins. They are promised that if they only believe in the blood of Christ (an innocent victim!), in the blood offered by Him for the expiation of the sins of the whole of mankind, it will atone for every mortal sin. And we believe neither in vicarious atonement, nor in the possibility of the remission of the smallest sin by any god, not even by a "personal Absolute" or "Infinite," if such a thing could have any existence. What we believe in, is strict and impartial justice. Our idea of the unknown Universal Deity, represented by Karma, is that it is a Power which cannot fail, and can, therefore, have neither wrath nor mercy, only absolute Equity, which leaves every cause, great or small, to work out its inevitable effects. The saying of Jesus: "With what measure you mete it shall be measured to you again" (Matth. vii., 2), neither by expression nor implication points to any hope of future mercy or salvation by proxy. This is why, recognising as we do in our philosophy the justice of this statement, we cannot recommend too strongly mercy, charity, and forgiveness of mutual offences. Resist not evil, and render good for evil, are Buddhist precepts, and were first preached in view of the implacability of Karmic law. For man to take the law into his own hands is anyhow a sacrilegious presumption. Human Law may use restrictive not punitive measures; but a man who, believing in Karma, still revenges himself and refuses to forgive every injury, thereby rendering good for evil, is a criminal and only hurts himself. As Karma is sure to punish the man who wronged him, by seeking to inflict an additional punishment on his enemy, he, who instead of leaving that punishment to the great Law adds to it his own mite, only begets thereby a cause for the future reward of his own enemy and a future punishment for himself. The unfailing Regulator affects in each incarnation the quality of its successor; and the sum of the merit or demerit in preceding ones determines it.

ENQUIRER. Are we then to infer a man's past from his present?

THEOSOPHIST. Only so far as to believe that his present life is what it justly should be, to atone for the sins of the past life. Of course -- seers and great adepts excepted -- we cannot as average mortals know what those sins were. From our paucity of data, it is impossible for us even to determine what an old man's youth must have been; neither can we, for like reasons, draw final conclusions merely from what we see in the life of some man, as to what his past life may have been.

OLD SOUL AT HOME: BOON TO SOUL EVOLUTION

Erle Frayne D. Argonza

A gracious day to everyone else!

At this moment I wish to share my reflections about the great boon that an Old Soul would bring to a household. And baneful it is for a certain household to have a lack of or throw away an Old Soul most specially an authority figure who’s the Light of the home.

As already clarified in previous article, an Old Soul is one had evolved way ahead of the rest of the population. We mystics call them ‘evolved souls’ while ancient Chinese call them ‘old souls’. Being evolved, they are those who can coach and mentor other younger souls—the ‘laggards’ (or ‘young souls’) and the ‘middling souls’ (no more laggard but short of being an old soul)—so that the latter can hopefully evolve faster in their respective Paths.

For a planet like Earth that is considered ‘fallen’, or trapped in dense energy veils (e-veils or evils), it is such an enormous boost for all souls to have old souls among them. Needless to say, in the micro-setting, a family would perform optimally in the evolutionary path if an authority figure of the old soul type is present.

Most often, an old soul is assigned to a family as an infant to be taken care of if another old soul is present as an authority figure who can sublimely mentor this infant. The Divine Hierarchs will never risk incarnating an old soul among street people or families of laggards where the stimuli for soul growth are of the deprivation levels.

That is not to say that among the poor folks there are no old souls. No matter how deprived a community is, chances are the Hierarchs will find ways to embody some old souls there, provided that somehow the minimum of growth-optimizing stimuli are present to ensure that these old souls will advance in their evolution while in that same community.

In my own experience being an old soul myself, I was very lucky to have incarnated in a family with an old soul authority: my paternal grandfather Estanislao Argonza. He in turn came from a family (Argonza) where intellect ran high. That was by the way around the years 1890-1915 when the same old Argonzas embodied, in a country the Philippines that was 4th world (backwood colony), in a backcountry called ‘Cagayan’ province.

I could only surmise that old souls were rare then in my country. I’d say lucky enough if there were 1 old soul per 1,000 heads total. Even intellectuals were rare, probably in the proportion of 1 per 500 heads. But the old Argonzas (my grandfather and his male cousins particularly) I encountered as a tot were so intellectually endowed that the Argonza name came to be known as synonymous to ‘illustrious’ during the American era.

My grandfather came from a humble family of struggling artisans and clerks. Note that to be an artisan and clerk during those times was already worth one’s esteem. His father Thomas, half-Basque mestizo, was a clerk who rose to supervisory rank at the Tabacalera Company (located in Tuguegarao town) and was reputedly very intelligent. He died during the 2nd World War, though he didn’t die in vain as among his children was an old soul who was Christened as Estanislao.

This young boy Estanislao only reached high school as the most advanced schooling he had. His parents didn’t have the funds to send him to college. But he was schooled in the classic Anglo-Saxon pedagogy of the Americans, and beyond that he read so widely that his mind was encyclopedic as he neared 20. At 20s he was allowed to teach mathematics and music at the Cagayan High School, Cagayan Valley’s top school then, with a mere high school diploma as his formal credential.

From there he rose to fame as a young mathematician and musical genius. He was assigned the post of Band Master to the Cagayan Public School Band, which he oversaw for nearly four (4) decades and which produced many young talented musicians and musical geniuses. When the USA granted independence to the Philippines on the 4th of July 1946, the genius Estanislao was among the select band masters who were invited to play the inaugural themes of the new republic at the Quirino Grandstand in Manila.

Handsome, charismatic and brilliant, the young Estanislao got his most important reward in life ever: a young woman named Faustina Narag. The daughter of a gentry, Don Juan Narag, who was among the wealthiest landlords and scions of ancient nobles in the valley, Faustina was schooled at the Philippine Normal School and was mentored by American professors. She then taught at the newly founded public schools in Tuguegarao, then a young entrepot town, where her father’s vast estates were located.

The only biggest bitter part of Faustina’s life was marrying a ‘common man’, Estanislao, and the marriage being disapproved by the family, Faustina lost her inheritance privileges. But Estanislao was no ‘common folk’ as he later demonstrated, though till late in his life, which I myself saw with my eyes, he was brushed aside by Faustina’s wealthy sibs as a mere commoner. He was a man with big dreams, a visionary, and as a multi-level marketing man declared, “a man with a dream cannot be denied.”

Being both from the intelligentsia, you could just imagine the level of education and culture that flowed in the household of the Estanislao & Faustina couple. Having born eight (8) children in all (some died later of ailments), both them moved to sideline in some mercantile activities to be able to send their children to school. All of the children, including my father Steve, were able to go through college and grew up as professionals.

My grandparents were already retired when my family settled in Tuguegarao in 1964. It was a large nipa house, built as a substitute to the big house destroyed during the war, that my family encountered. However, in 1966, a new modern house was built to replace the old native structure. The house became the ancestral home of the Estanislao lineage, and my family had the privilege to live in it and maintain it till 1986. When the entire house was fully built in 1971, it was the most beautiful architectural and structural house in the whole of Tuguegarao.

To go along with the house was books and musical pieces (vinyl records). They were our cultural standards then. Every evening as we dined together, we held nice conversations led by my grandfather. Reading, listening to fine music, nice conversations, intelligent discussions and fine culinary (my grandmother, mother and father were expert at culinary arts) were the legacies built and left to us younger Argonzas in that home.

I would say without doubt that it was the sublime energy and nurturing efforts of my grandfather, the old soul Estanislao, that was the cutting edge behind our family rearing. One can go ahead and research this: my family was among the most cultured, well-bred and intellectually-endowed in the entire Cagayan Valley till the 1980s. And that all started with the presence of old souls in the lineage, a chain of old soul embodiments from the older generations to the next ones.

My grandparents left Tuguegarao for the USA in 1969 to retire in New York, where my two aunties have migrated (one a nurse, another a doctor). But in 1971 they came back to Tuguegarao, did the finishing touches of the roughly done home, and stayed for two (2) years to enjoy retirement. A family car was added as a utility, plus a television (too few had TV then in town) and all the modern accessories then including air-conditioning. We were clearly a typical middle class family by 1970s, at a time when our main streets in Tuguegarao had just been asphalted (it was dirt gravel till 1971).

The home thus became a center for extended family events –parties, Sunday gatherings, tea & coffee chats, etc. My cousins from the barrios and other places would normally drop by ‘ambush style’ (unannounced, as we didn’t have a telephone at home) and we would entertain them there. The chats and exchanges with my grandfather always differed from the rest, as there were always deep reflective notes. He was clearly the philosopher of the entire extended family (Argonzas and Narags). Many kins begged for his words of counsel on a diversity of matters.

There at home I learned my first ABCs, my mathematics, my story-telling abilities, my dance, my music. Beethoven, Mozart, Bach, Brahms and classical masters were our standards, aside from the emerging pop tunes (jazz, folk & counry, pop-ballad, vaudeville, Latin). Broadways like “Fiddler on the Roof,” “Showboat” and “New York New York” were among our favorite collections. The King James Holy Bible was my first scriptural staple, the 30-volume Britannica my regular reading past-time in 1973-75, and enormous pieces of substance books plus fiction on various topics were my cognitive viands.

But among many nurturing things at home, I can never ever forget the chats, discussions, coaching and mentoring by my grandfather. It was only but a few couples of years of living with him, but it was like travelling to many distant galaxies in terms of impact. At hindsight, I can now understand why the Hierarchs embodied me in the Argonza line, for only in a family with an old soul as authority can a budding old soul like me grow up to become one whose gifted mind and heart will be of greater service for the sublime causes.

My own parents and the children of my grandfather (my father and his sibs) never reached the level of genius that my grandfather had. I guess this was their privilege: both young and middling souls, they had the good karma of being nurtured by an old soul. While my parents are merely of above average intelligence, the situation was compensated for by the presence of my grandfather till my 3rd year high school. My formation process was already solid when I left for the university in 1975 to begin my college life, thanks to this old soul Estanislao.

Today the embodiments of old souls are happening on a greater scale. There are middle class parents of mere average intelligence whose newly born kids are all old souls. Aware of this fact, I do go to the extent of getting involved in coaching and mentoring my nieces and nephews most specially the potentially gifted ones. The luck of these kids is that, in the absence of an old soul among home authorities, they encounter the old soul mentors in school as their teachers or pupils of older ages.

My own estimate is that at this time, most specially in the big cities, old souls comprise 1 per 100 heads. Laggards broadly comprise 63% of the population while 36% are middling souls. The balance will tilt towards more middling and old souls in the coming decades, and before 2050 there may not be a single laggard in town, as all of them will be shipped out to backward planets where they are most fit.
We can hit a proportion of 5 old souls per 100 heads by 2050 per my estimate. That means every household will have one old soul at least, whether an authority figure or a kid. And the possibility of family lineages of pure old souls, 100% composition, is now within our sight.

What exciting times we surely have. Hopefully we can all contribute to the challenges of nurturing these old soul reinforcements, for they shall continue to increase in numbers across the Age of Aquarius. This is surely a cause for great celebration.
