LAW OF BALANCE

LAW OF BALANCE

Erle Frayne D. Argonza / Ra

A pleasant day of Love, Peace, Harmony to you all!

Liberation from the bonds of illusion, which enables a highly-willing Aspirant to end the cycles of rebirth, can be described as the minimum attainment of optimal balance in the soul and psyche. The soul or higher self is activated, and by so doing, it becomes the ‘captain of the psyche’ or lower self.

In an un-liberated state, where one is a slave of desire, veiled by thick energies of illusion, the soul is a passive player in one’s life. In such a state, the psyche prevails. The person experiences imbalances of every kind, and is subject to storms and stress like they were level 5 typhoons smashing upon the psyche without control.

Attaining a high state of balance is therefore a condition of liberation, a prerequisite to attaining harmony of a sterling nature. This condition of the liberated person is encapsulated in the following quote from the 1994 mysticism manual writ by Guru Felix Fojas, my Initiating Guru in the Great White Lodge, to wit:

Law of Balance – Positive and negative energies must be balanced in man and nature to achieve harmony. Lack or excess of either positive or negative energy results in an imbalance and causes diseases in man and catastrophes in nature.

At the biophysical level, we experience imbalance as disease which is a fusion of the words ‘dis’ and ‘ease’. As early as our primary schooling, we are urged to maintain biophysical balance through balanced food, regular water intake of 8 glasses, a glass of milk, a glass of juice, some fruits, physical exercise, and sleep of 8 hours daily.

Biophysical wellness however is dependent on the psychological states of people. As the idiom goes, disease is 75% psychological and only 25% physiological. So here we find the challenge to harmonize the biophysical body and the subtle bodies (astral, mental, causal) in order to achieve perfect health and wellness.

But there is the soul’s descent to the dense planes, lured by desire, which causes imbalances in the psyche. We are fortunate that the sciences of psychology and psychiatry have discovered the diverse forms of psychological imbalances, the most advanced being the psychological disorder syndromes. That discovery is just one step short of identifying the descent of the soul as the cause behind the disorder problems.

Because the soul of a Fallen One is in a state of trap, it doesn’t have the power to proceed with the healing of a disorder. But one has the endowment of will as a first step in admitting to one’s disordered condition: the will to admit, the will to seek help of specialists for healing/balancing, and the will to heal.

So as part of the nirvana or salvation program for an aspiring seeker, I normally recommend that s/he seek the diagnostics and counsel of a clinical psychologist. Any person who is badly dysfunctional, and therefore badly focused, will be disabled from absorbing and practicing the lessons offered by a guru.

No matter if I teach the seeker to meditate, the exercise will be futile as the dis-focus will bar him/her from proceeding with an undisturbed meditation. A tool that is intended to help the person feel bliss, could now turn out to be a tool so stressful, as the dis-focused dysfunctional person will feel pressured to perfect the exercise and feel self-pitying if s/he can’t proceed well with it.

So if you show the symptoms of anxiety disorder, personality disorder, and/or bipolar disorder, please seek the counsel of therapists. The latter possess the tools that can aid in fulfilling a minimum state of balance to absorb metaphysical lessons and practices. Admit that you are badly imbalanced, that your deeds (past & present incarnations) were responsible for it, and be optimistic that you can attain the balance along the way.

Persistent, uncontrollable feelings of resentment, antisocial behavior, antipathies, and hostility towards others are negative. Linger on in them and you have a surefire formula for becoming more disordered and a free host to negative beings from the astral plane. Unlearn them to transcend your disordered constraints, and you can be on the road to nirvana.

LAW OF POLARITY OR DUALITY

LAW OF POLARITY OR DUALITY

Erle Frayne D. Argonza / Ra

As a continuation of the discourse on cosmic laws, let us reflect this time on another fundamental law: the Law of Polarity or Duality. We’ve had so much immersion to polarity principle and discourse in our lives that it hardly merits additional notes, but for the sake of deepening genuflections on the metaphysical laws let us focus on the law for this moment.

Let’s begin with the lifeworld (world of everyday life). We know that when there’s man, there’s woman. There’s up or Above, so there’s down or Below. There’s a north pole, so there’s a south pole too. There’s warm, so there is cold. There is soft, and there is hard. There is sympathetic, and there is anti-pathetic. There is obese/fat, and there is thin. There is old, so there’s young. Papa there is, so does Mama exist.

We can go on and on and endlessly identify such pairs of antinomy we call ‘polarity’. The kids who were exposed to science early in school know of the electron and proton at the atomic level. As one goes higher in science, one gets to learn of the positron and electron, opposing particles that do clash. There is matter, so there is anti-matter. A universe there exists and easily substantiated, so there must be anti-universe.

In observing a storm of typhoon, which is a common geophysical phenomenon everywhere, we know that there is a force called ‘centripetal’ that tends to pull objects inward to the center or core. Likewise exists a force called ‘centrifugal’ that pulls an object or materials (in powerful tornadoes as huge as buildings are blown off) away from the core or center.

To consolidate our understanding of the polarity/duality principle, let me quote my Initiating Guru Felix Fojas, in the manual on mysticism that he prepared for my batch of Initiates in 1994, to wit:

Law of Polarity or Duality – Everything in nature has a positive and a negative polarity. Positive-electric energy is projective or exerts a centrifugal force which moves away from the source or the center. Negative-magnetic energy attracts or exerts a force that is centripetal or moves towards the source or center. (End of quote)

Being a trained sociologist and political economist, I know by heart that polarity is at the core of social theory. That is, theory coming from the West. Marxist paradigm was dominant for many decades in the social sciences, and I have the opportunity to read the basic books of Marx, Engels, and Lenin, and was able to use Marxism as framework for analyzing and forecasting social phenomena, both domestic and global.

Expounding on Hegelian dialectics, Marx took the law of polarity as the sacrosanct law governing the motion of society. Class struggles eventually lead to social change, from one society to another. Thesis generates its anti-thesis, and the clash between the polar them will produce a synthesis or a new order-of-things that is qualitatively different from the previous state (thesis).

Marxist theory surely is a fitting exemplar of the law of polarity, and one can go ahead to use the paradigm for an understanding of social reality. Provided that, as geometry and divine wisdom teach us, one should know their limits too. A theory can explain a range of phenomena, but only up to a certain range, beyond which its powers to explain are muted or puerile. That is where other theories can be appropriated, based on other universal and/or cosmic laws.

That explains why Marxist theory became obsolete in social science. It is paradigm-based, and paradigms come and go. The cosmic laws that inhere in phenomena, however, are emanations from the One Universal Principle (God), and are in operation for as long as the manvantara (great cycle of life) is in operation. It thus takes profound wisdom, via faculty of discrimination, to judge as to what phenomena can be explicated best by certain cosmic laws.

KARMA

KARMA

Erle Frayne D. Argonza / Ra

“Kung ano ang puno, siya ang bunga,” is a popular yet ancient idiom among Filipinos. In English, it roughly translates as “whatsoever is the tree, so shall be the fruit.” It is the law of cause of effect, which even physicists recognize in their theorizations of physical reality.

“What you sow shall you reap,” is a parallel aphorism from the ancient Hebraic texts. Plant the seeds of goodness, and you will be rewarded with good results thereafter. Plant the seeds of ill will and evil, and you will reap the punitive results thereafter.

The universal law of karma, as it is understood in the East. Like reincarnation, Theos Sophia expounded voluminously about the subject. In HPBlavatsky’s peregrinations on the subject, she contended that it takes 3,000 years after death before a person can be reincarnated.

There are exceptions to the general trend, as the evolved souls are returned to the physical plane again and again that it hardly takes them to rest before they are sent back. But to the broad folks, who have so much of negative karmas to pay for, and a modicum of good karmas to reap too, it takes a long time before rebirth.

To be able to escape from the recurring rebirths and deaths, one should intensify absorption and practices in the Path and eventually attain nirvana or Self-realization. Moksha (liberation) and salvation also refer to the same end-of-the-reincarnation road history.

A quotation about the subject is cited below, taken from the book The Key to Theosophy by H.P.Blavatsky.

WHAT IS KARMA?

ENQUIRER. But what is Karma?

THEOSOPHIST. As I have said, we consider it as the Ultimate Law of the Universe, the source, origin and fount of all other laws which exist throughout Nature. Karma is the unerring law which adjusts effect to cause, on the physical, mental and spiritual planes of being. As no cause remains without its due effect from greatest to least, from a cosmic disturbance down to the movement of your hand, and as like produces like, Karma is that unseen and unknown law which adjusts wisely, intelligently and equitably each effect to its cause, tracing the latter back to its producer. Though itself unknowable, its action is perceivable.

ENQUIRER. Then it is the "Absolute," the "Unknowable" again, and is not of much value as an explanation of the problems of life?

THEOSOPHIST. On the contrary. For, though we do not know what Karma is per se, and in its essence, we do know how it works, and we can define and describe its mode of action with accuracy. We only do not know its ultimate Cause, just as modern philosophy universally admits that the ultimate Cause of anything is "unknowable."

ENQUIRER. And what has Theosophy to say in regard to the solution of the more practical needs of humanity? What is the explanation which it offers in reference to the awful suffering and dire necessity prevalent among the so-called "lower classes."

THEOSOPHIST. To be pointed, according to our teaching all these great social evils, the distinction of classes in Society, and of the sexes in the affairs of life, the unequal distribution of capital and of labour -- all are due to what we tersely but truly denominate KARMA.

ENQUIRER. But, surely, all these evils which seem to fall upon the masses somewhat indiscriminately are not actual merited and INDIVIDUAL Karma?

THEOSOPHIST. No, they cannot be so strictly defined in their effects as to show that each individual environment, and the particular conditions of life in which each person finds himself, are nothing more than the retributive Karma which the individual generated in a previous life. We must not lose sight of the fact that every atom is subject to the general law governing the whole body to which it belongs, and here we come upon the wider track of the Karmic law. Do you not perceive that the aggregate of individual Karma becomes that of the nation to which those individuals belong, and further, that the sum total of National Karma is that of the World? The evils that you speak of are not peculiar to the individual or even to the Nation, they are more or less universal; and it is upon this broad line of Human interdependence that the law of Karma finds its legitimate and equable issue.

ENQUIRER. Do I, then, understand that the law of Karma is not necessarily an individual law?

THEOSOPHIST. That is just what I mean. It is impossible that Karma could readjust the balance of power in the world's life and progress, unless it had a broad and general line of action. It is held as a truth among Theosophists that the interdependence of Humanity is the cause of what is called Distributive Karma, and it is this law which affords the solution to the great question of collective suffering and its relief. It is an occult law, moreover, that no man can rise superior to his individual failings, without lifting, be it ever so little, the whole body of which he is an integral part. In the same way, no one can sin, nor suffer the effects of sin, alone. In reality, there is no such thing as "Separateness"; and the nearest approach to that selfish state, which the laws of life permit, is in the intent or motive.

ENQUIRER. And are there no means by which the distributive or national Karma might be concentred or collected, so to speak, and brought to its natural and legitimate fulfilment without all this protracted suffering?

THEOSOPHIST. As a general rule, and within certain limits which define the age to which we belong, the law of Karma cannot be hastened or retarded in its fulfilment. But of this I am certain, the point of possibility in either of these directions has never yet been touched. Listen to the following recital of one phase of national suffering, and then ask yourself whether, admitting the working power of individual, relative, and distributive Karma, these evils are not capable of extensive modification and general relief. What I am about to read to you is from the pen of a National Saviour, one who, having overcome Self, and being free to choose, has elected to serve Humanity, in bearing at least as much as a woman's shoulders can possibly bear of National Karma. This is what she says: --

"Yes, Nature always does speak, don't you think? only sometimes we make so much noise that we drown her voice. That is why it is so restful to go out of the town and nestle awhile in the Mother's arms. I am thinking of the evening on Hampstead Heath when we watched the sun go down; but oh! upon what suffering and misery that sun had set! A lady brought me yesterday a big hamper of wild flowers. I thought some of my East-end family had a better right to it than I, and so I took it down to a very poor school in Whitechapel this morning. You should have seen the pallid little faces brighten! Thence I went to pay for some dinners at a little cookshop for some children. It was in a back street, narrow, full of jostling people; stench indescribable, from fish, meat, and other comestibles, all reeking in a sun that, in Whitechapel, festers instead of purifying. The cookshop was the quintessence of all the smells. Indescribable meat-pies at 1d., loathsome lumps of 'food' and swarms of flies, a very altar of Beelzebub! All about, babies on the prowl for scraps, one, with the face of an angel, gathering up cherrystones as a light and nutritious form of diet. I came westward with every nerve shuddering and jarred, wondering whether anything can be done with some parts of London save swallowing them up in an earthquake and starting their inhabitants afresh, after a plunge into some purifying Lethe, out of which not a memory might emerge! And then I thought of Hampstead Heath, and -- pondered. If by any sacrifice one could win the power to save these people, the cost would not be worth counting; but, you see, THEY must be changed -- and how can that be wrought? In the condition they now are, they would not profit by any environment in which they might be placed; and yet, in their present surroundings they must continue to putrefy. It breaks my heart, this endless, hopeless misery, and the brutish degradation that is at once its outgrowth and its root. It is like the banyan tree; every branch roots itself and sends out new shoots. What a difference between these feelings and the peaceful scene at Hampstead! and yet we, who are the brothers and sisters of these poor creatures, have only a right to use Hampstead Heaths to gain strength to save Whitechapels." (Signed by a name too respected and too well known to be given to scoffers.)

ENQUIRER. That is a sad but beautiful letter, and I think it presents with painful conspicuity the terrible workings of what you have called "Relative and Distributive Karma." But alas! there seems no immediate hope of any relief short of an earthquake, or some such general ingulfment!

THEOSOPHIST. What right have we to think so while one-half of humanity is in a position to effect an immediate relief of the privations which are suffered by their fellows? When every individual has contributed to the general good what he can of money, of labour, and of ennobling thought, then, and only then, will the balance of National Karma be struck, and until then we have no right nor any reasons for saying that there is more life on the earth than Nature can support. It is reserved for the heroic souls, the Saviours of our Race and Nation, to find out the cause of this unequal pressure of retributive Karma, and by a supreme effort to re-adjust the balance of power, and save the people from a moral ingulfment a thousand times more disastrous and more permanently evil than the like physical catastrophe, in which you seem to see the only possible outlet for this accumulated misery.

ENQUIRER. Well, then, tell me generally how you describe this law of Karma?

THEOSOPHIST. We describe Karma as that Law of re-adjustment which ever tends to restore disturbed equilibrium in the physical, and broken harmony in the moral world. We say that Karma does not act in this or that particular way always; but that it always does act so as to restore Harmony and preserve the balance of equilibrium, in virtue of which the Universe exists.

ENQUIRER. Give me an illustration.

THEOSOPHIST. Later on I will give you a full illustration. Think now of a pond. A stone falls into the water and creates disturbing waves. These waves oscillate backwards and forwards till at last, owing to the operation of what physicists call the law of the dissipation of energy, they are brought to rest, and the water returns to its condition of calm tranquillity. Similarly all action, on every plane, produces disturbance in the balanced harmony of the Universe, and the vibrations so produced will continue to roll backwards and forwards, if its area is limited, till equilibrium is restored. But since each such disturbance starts from some particular point, it is clear that equilibrium and harmony can only be restored by the reconverging to that same point of all the forces which were set in motion from it. And here you have proof that the consequences of a man's deeds, thoughts, etc. must all react upon himself with the same force with which they were set in motion.

ENQUIRER. But I see nothing of a moral character about this law. It looks to me like the simple physical law that action and reaction are equal and opposite.

THEOSOPHIST. I am not surprised to hear you say that. Europeans have got so much into the ingrained habit of considering right and wrong, good and evil, as matters of an arbitrary code of law laid down either by men, or imposed upon them by a Personal God. We Theosophists, however, say that "Good" and "Harmony," and "Evil" and "Dis-harmony," are synonymous. Further we maintain that all pain and suffering are results of want of Harmony, and that the one terrible and only cause of the disturbance of Harmony is selfishness in some form or another. Hence Karma gives back to every man the actual consequences of his own actions, without any regard to their moral character; but since he receives his due for all, it is obvious that he will be made to atone for all sufferings which he has caused, just as he will reap in joy and gladness the fruits of all the happiness and harmony he had helped to produce. I can do no better than quote for your benefit certain passages from books and articles written by our Theosophists -- those who have a correct idea of Karma.

ENQUIRER. I wish you would, as your literature seems to be very sparing on this subject?

THEOSOPHIST. Because it is the most difficult of all our tenets.

PRANIC HEALING: EFFECTIVENESS, PSYCHOSOCIAL TOOL

Erle Frayne Argonza

Pleasant day to everyone!

Natural healing therapies are rising. This is part of the overall wave of new trends, as people become more conscious of their health. Health is both wellness and sickness, and the wellness side is rising faster than the curative. The reason is simple: given scarce resources at hand and the choice is to opt for just one (wellness or sickness?), a person would prefer to invest on wellness than sickness.

Among the natural therapies that respond to the wellness challenge is pranic healing. Its effectiveness depends on the ailment concerned. Being among the topics taken up with my mystical group by our guru facilitator in 1994, I know for a fact that pranic healing’s intervention is in the electromagnetic or EM system of a person. The EM comprises of the aura-etheric-light bodies.

If one gets minor laceration on the skin, which creates a wound as capillaries in the area get opened up, it would be silly to suggest pranic healing on this simple ailment. The bio-physical body received a mere 5-centimeter laceration, which is superficial and not really deep, it will not even require bandage much more for a suture. All this small wound requires is a liquid treatment such as betadine.

However, when the ailment is cancer, or psychological disorder (e.g. depression), pranic healing would be a fitful method of intervention. Psychic attacks (e.g. witchcraft, sorcery, black magic) induce deep wounds in the astral body and must be healed right away, for failure to do so, the energies within will be sucked out in uncontrolled drain, thus inducing other ailments on the body and possibly leading to physical death.

Being a mystic, I was trained to depower psychic attackers (invisible entities, black magicians, sorcerers), and must perform this first before applying pranic healing treatment on a victim. This is the rule here for the healer: never heal the wounds without depowering the victimizer. If folks out there feel that a close relative is under attack, they have to contact a mystic or shaman right away to find out indeed whether such an attack is taking place, rather than go straight to a pranic healer unless the latter is also a shaman or mystic.

Cancer is caused by imbalances in the EM system. I already echoed this in seminars where I was tasked to speak before, facing audiences of health experts. In a pranic healing workshop sponsored by the College of Nursing of the University of the Philippines, where I was guest workshop lecturer, I clarified that cancer begins with EM imbalances, and then impacts on the bio-physical body. Therefore, the best methods of treatment would be EM-intervention methods notably pranic healing. The participants, numbering past 150, were unbelievably open to the new diagnostics, with nary an antipathetic or counter-theory smart aleck at all.

Being no career healer then, I only used pranic healing very occasionally. I often used it for my favorite intervention: psychosocial counseling. When a person (I hate to use the term ‘patient’ that sounds toxic!) faces me with a depression, and the depression is past the 1-month occurrence, s/he is in a ‘danger zone’, and so I first of all administer pranic healing. The purpose is to detoxify the person first, so that we can both connect to each other. Inter-connection is important between healer and client for the intervention to take effect. After applying pranic healing for 10 minutes, the person becomes more relaxed, more focused, and in a better mood to articulate the problem-situation s/he faces.

I still remember a former student at the university, a girl majoring in development studies, in the mid-90s. I heard from her friends that she was already on her 3rd month of on-and-off depression, and that made me so alarmed at her condition. She was now on the breakpoint of a nervous breakdown, and before that would ever happen,
I requested her pals (my fraternity sisters) to get her to me pronto.

She was a phlegmatic personality type and isn’t prone to talking to formal authority figures about her predicaments. But hearing the news from my fraternity sisters that I can do healing (pranic and counsel), she considered this option. Within hours from the urgent call, she came, and we chat in the front gardens of our college building (plants have healing effects).

She then narrated her tragic love life, her on-and-off quarrel and split with her boyfriend. It was the girl who split up all of the time. Finally peeved by the break-up ritual where he was at the losing end, the boyfriend decided to call it quits and then chose to date another girl. Hopeful that he would come back, but seeing the other girl with him, made my client badly depressed. He never came back, and so I had to do some numerology and intuitive analysis to find out whether he will come back.

But before doing the numerology, I administered pranic healing. I simply cannot let her go after that session without detoxification. She felt so relieved after that. And she talked better. The numerology and yogic intuition than made me forecast that the boy won’t come back again, and explained that track. I then encouraged her to simply move on and find another boy from a very large population of boys in Manila anyway.

That counsel session lasted two (2) hours. It was a highly revealing and instructive one. Having taken off the dense energies (I can sense her feel lighter and her aura was clean), she then declared to follow my counsel. Every week since that time, I would follow her progress through her pals (frat sisters), and they did report positively her progress. Two months later she was dating a new guy, her depression fully gone.

For the pranic healers out there, maybe you can put pranic healing on your agenda for method of intervention too. Same goes for psychologists doing clinical and counseling tasks. Pranic healing is very effective a tool for restoring psychic balance, this is assured.
